English Conversation sessions

Free, conversation sessions are for Canadian citizens, immigrants and refugees who are 19 years of age and older in the Metro Vancouver area who don’t have the means to pay for other learning opportunities.

Learn at a slower pace

There are four levels of conversation sessions, from beginner to intermediate. We will help find the right session for you. Small groups of 6-10 people give everyone the time and opportunity to practice. Sessions are informal with trained facilitators – members of the local community or UBC students – there to guide you.

Choose a session that works for you

We offer in-person and online sessions once per week. See our Event Calendar for details. Each session is about one hour. Sessions are free but you need to register.

English Conversation activities

Learn English with our free, fun activities for seniors

If you like to sing, dance, act or play we have special activities for you. You can stay active and improve your English.

Activities are free but you need to register.
