EVENT: Knowledge We Share

Join UBC students as they present new, accessible ways to communicate research related to the Downtown Eastside.

Downtown Eastside communities support a lot of research but may not see the results or find accessible versions of the results. In conjunction with the Making Research Accessible initiative (MRAi), UBC students have been exploring in their classes more accessible ways to share research—from multimedia to infographics. Join them at the nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona library as release this semester’s work.

This event is funded by the UBC Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund and part of the Making Research Accessible in the Downtown Eastside initiative.

The MRAi is a partnership between the UBC Learning Exchange and the UBC Library’s Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, with input from the UBC Knowledge Exchange Unit, the UBC School of Library, Archival, and Information Studies (iSchool), Simon Fraser University Library, the Vancouver Public Library and others.

In 2020, the MRAi launched a free online portal called the Downtown Eastside Research Access Portal to make it easier to find research related to the Downtown Eastside.
