With forest fires now a regular part of summer and, more and more, spring, have you ever wondered if there’s a low-cost way to filter the air in your room? Wonder no longer.
Join us at this free workshop where you’ll get the materials and instructions to build an air filter that you can take home. You will also learn emergency measures to remove contaminants like smoke and allergens from your indoor air.
This workshop is hosted at 312 Main by the Vancity Community Foundation and Simon Fraser University, in conjunction with the Climate Equity Activation and Resilience (CLEAR) project.
CLEAR is a three-year project designed to make climate research more accessible, define collaborative climate research projects with DTES communities, and add capacity to local organizations to advocate for climate justice and action. The UBC Learning Exchange and the UBC Sustainability Hub are co-leading the project with EMBERS-Eastside Works, Recycling Alternative, Working Gear, and Union Gospel Mission.
