About the event:

Will you have to keep wearing masks? Will more community organizations re-open? Should you be concerned about COVID-19 variants? We’ve invited Associate Professor Lindsey Richardson to join us via Zoom to answer questions and share her reflections on how some of the key issues related to the current COVID-19 situation could affect the DTES community.

About Lindsey Richardson:

Lindsey is a UBC sociologist who specializes in the social and economic determinants of health. In her research, she’s explored questions like “How does changing the timing of cheque day impact people’s health?” She works as a research scientist at the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use, which specializes in research related to substance use and urban health.

About the Learning Exchange Speaker Series:

This event is the first in a new Learning Exchange Speaker Series where we ask Downtown Eastside residents and community organizations to share their questions about hot topics, and then we find a speaker to provide insights through a community discussion.

If you have questions for Lindsey, send an email to Heather Holroyd at heather.holroyd@ubc.ca.

Everyone is welcome! Our events aim to be a safe space for people of all backgrounds.
