Voices UP!, a play developed and performed by community members, students, and staff at the UBC Learning Exchange, brought to life stories of the Learning Lab, a dynamic arts-driven program for Downtown Eastside residents, as part of a program evaluation.
Wanting to share their stories of making a play together, and inspire others to use theatre in evaluations and other community projects, the cast and creators of Voices UP! decided to create a comic capturing their process. Just like Voices UP!, this comic was written and drawn collaboratively. The Voices UP! Collective hopes it will share the play’s journey with a wide audience.
This comic was created by: Carolyn Camman, Christopher Cook, Jay, Ken Lee, Andrew Leyland, Suzie O’Shea, Sidney Steel, Sky Thomas, and Teresa Shu-Tak Wong.
