As part of the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society’s explorAsian2016 Festival, the UBC Learning Exchange is hosting a film screening and discussion of The Last Geisha, directed by Makoto Yasuhara. The film recounts the story of the last geisha in Yoshiwara, Japan. There are many misconceptions about the geisha. These talented artists have long held a central place in Japanese culture.
